How to find duplicate entries over a number of spreadsheets.

Hi, I seem to be having problems getting anything to work to find dupilcate entries. I'm using Excel 2007. I'm using each spreadsheet for each inventory box I have. I need to find if I have duplicate numbers over the hundreds of boxes. I have tried numerous methods on my own but no luck. All the entries to validate are in Col. A in all sheets. I need a simple method if possible that highlites the dupicates. I do not need to automatically remove the entries.

If I have posted in the wrong forum, please move.

    Any help would be appriciated.

    Thank You

    Glenn

Hi Glenn and welcome to the forum,

Conditional Formatting will easily show duplicates but all the data needs to be in a single worksheet. It sounds like you have multiple workbooks. Can you bring your data from the many workbooks into a single sheet? How many workbooks? Does each workbook have multiple worksheets? How do you want the answer displayed? Can you supply a sample of two of your workbooks so we can understand the problem better?
One test is worth a thousand opinions.

Hi Marvin, Attached is a sample of the file. Right now each box has it's own workbook. The sample shows a few sheets I set up as a test file and I can move everything to be the same as the sample. I would like to have the duplicates highlighted. I only need Col. A to be checked.

    Thank You
