    Shopping list

    Hello,

I am trying to create a shopping list for my family backpacking trips. I would like to have any duplicate items in the "menu" worksheet add together into one cell in my "grocery list" worksheet. I would like to avoid having duplicate items on the grocery list if I could combine them and list the item only once. Any help/thoughts would be great!

    Re: Shopping list

Use an Advanced Filter to get a unique list of "grocery" items; select "Unique" and "Copy to another location"

Use COUNTIF or COUNTIFS to find out how many duplicates there are and SUMIF or SUMIFS to total the values.

Or you could use a Pivot Table which would probably be simpler.

Look at it this way...if you typed that title into google, what would you expect to get back?
