    Cross Reference with multiple values

I'm getting a clock-in spreadsheet from a client and want to populate another spreadsheet.

I've attached sample format of the Source Spreadsheet and the Expected Output.

The formula I require should perform this:
For a given Employee,Date, In/Out - cross reference all the matching values in the source spreadsheet and return the value (there won't be more than 1 value returned)

    For example
Employee No. 2 (Harry), Date = 28/1, In - should return 07:00. As this is before midday this will go in the Day row.

Are there any formulas which would do this?

    TIA

Re: Cross Reference with multiple values

Yes, it can be done, even with all those merged cells....lol
It's not pretty, but this works, at least on your sample:
Click on cell D16, Then define a name - FindTime, in the refers to copy this formula:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

then, for the cell formula id D16:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

    Drag this down and across

In case anyone is wondering what it looks like without the named formula:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

    Hope this helps
A picture may be worth a thousand words, BUT, a sample Workbook is worth a thousand screenshots!
