    Displaying text in a cell depending on the value entered

    Hi

    I have a spreadsheet (see attached) I want to be able to insert a number (from 1-5, which will represent how many inspections someone has completed in that week) in the cells coloured blue and depending on that value have the cell populate with one of the cells in column R.

    For example if I enter:
    1 = R4
    2 = R5
    3 = R6
    4 = R7
    5 = R8

    As for the purpose of this spreadsheet the ticks better diplay the data.

    Is there a formula that is able to do this?? (I would prefer a formula as I do not know how to use macros and I will need to take the formula from the spreadsheet I have provided onto the original copy.)

    Any help would be greatly appreciated

    I am not sure(looking your sample) where do you want to type the number and where the R... want to appear.

    The idea is to create a table somewhere in your sheet with these data(1= R4 ,ETC....) and then use INDEX & MATCH to get your results.

    I want to be able to type the numbers in the cells coloured blue. And then depending on the number I have entered I want the blue cell to populate with the corresponding amount of ticks (as located in the R column).

    Thank-you for any help you can give me.

    As i understand you want to type the numbers in a blue cell and in the same cell to getyour result.

    If this is TRUE, then you'll need VBA to do this. In this case, i am not able to help you.

    Good luck.
