Question Text and sequence number in one cell

    Hi there,

I'm trying to figure out how I can create a formula to create an easy list for ISRC numbers. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interna...Recording_Code)
My ISRC Codes are like this:

NL-C20-13-00001 (where NL is the country, C20 my company ID, 13 the year 2013 and 00001 is the sequence which refers to the track)
So what I'm trying to fix is that my excel sheet makes the number automatically like this:

    NL-C20-13-00002
    NL-C20-13-00003 etc.

    I've been trying: ="NL-C20-13-"&TEXT(A1+1)
and tried to modify it a bit, but I can't really get it to work yet.

So I hope someone has a solution for me.

    Thanks in advance!

    Does this helps you?

    ="NL"&"-"&"C20"&"-"&"13"&"_"&"0000"&ROW(A1)

Re: Text and sequence number in one cell

This seems to calculate perfect when I'm in the right row, but what if NL-C20-13-00035 is in cell A8 and I want NL-C20-13-00034 in cell A9,
so I see my latest number always on top..
When we create new tracks, we need new numbers, so A2 (in my case) will always be the newest number.
At the moment it looks like this for me:
    A2: NL-C20-13-00034
    A3: NL-C20-13-00033
    A4: NL-C20-13-00032
    A5: NL-C20-13-00031
    A6: NL-C20-13-00030
    etc.

I can use your solution as well, just copy it for a few hundred rows, paste special > values and then sort Descending..
So you're already made my day so far, but would be nice if you have the perfect solution for me, if I don't ask too much now

    Thanks!
