SUMIFS combined with VLOOKUP - Function Arguments show amounts however cell is blank

I am trying to combine SUMIFS with VLOOKUP. I have quarterly equity holdings and have asigned a specific sector for each equity (Sheet 'Equities.) that I would like to have summed in a specific cell. For instance in the sheet 'OSS' I am trying to build a formula that SUM's all equities for the given quarter that are marked as Health Care stocks.

In the 'OSS' sheet I have build a VLOOKUP formula in cell F40-F201 that finds percentage weighting in the sheet 'Holdings'.

I have attached the sheet where I have added just one quarter, however given the many quarters up until today, it would be nice to be able to solve this with a formula.

    Can anyone help please?

Red face Re: SUMIFS combined with VLOOKUP - Function Arguments show amounts however cell is blank

Thanks oeldere, a PivotTable is a great tool, however I can only show one period at a time. For the first couple of years I have quarterly holdings, however from 2000 up until today the holdings are monthly and it would therefore take some time to copy paste the values for all periods, which is why I still believe it would be preferable to have a SUMIFS combined with VLOOKUP function formula or similar in the 'OSS' sheet, which I am unable to do myself..

In that case you better add the desired (expected) result in your sheet.

    Tip:

Put all data in one sheet it's much easier to handle and is more flexible.
