Need to determine highest value in one column for duplicate entries in another column

    Hello,

I have attached some sample data to try to explain my situation more clearly.

I need to be able to find the duplicates within the Column A ("item"). Then, I need to determine the highest value in Column B ("value") for the array of cells with the duplicate values in Column A. I would then like to delete the entire row (which contains numerous additional columns of data) associated with the non-highest value.

To further complicate the issue, there may be blank values in the "Value" column. Additionally, there are multiple possibilities to the number of duplicate values for a given Item (could be 0, 1, 2, 10, etc.).

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Kathy
