Question Convert MMM DD, YYYY hh:mm:ss GMT -06:00 to shorthand format

    Hey all,

I reviewed a previous thread regarding the date conversion, but it didn't include the GMT -06:00 qualifier, thus, I'm not getting anything to work...

Okay, so my date fields start in M36, N36, and P36 and all have dates such as: Month Day, year hh:mm:ss AM/PM GMT -6:00
If I remove the GMT -06:00, and then click outside the cell, the date automatically converts to the proper format: mm/dd/yy hh:mm AM/PM

So my question is: is there a way to create a format rule that strips out the GMT -06:00 and then formats to date?

    Thanks,

    ~Kristel

    Maybe..

    =SUBSTITUTE(A1," GMT -06:00","")*1

    format as hh:mm:ss AM/PM
    Life's a spreadsheet, Excel!
