    Sumif with add and remove

Hi all I have a SUMIF that is working almost great... I need it to know whether or not it is a positive number or negative by using a C40 (C40 has a drop down of ADD, Blank and Remove).

any help would be greatly appreciated!

    =SUMIF($J$39:$W$39,"Extended Price",J41:W41)

    Thank you!
    Alex

Re: Sumif with add and remove

the problem with your post is we have NO idea of what you expect to see for what condition...
I suggest uploading a sample sheet, with a few answers worked out, to show us what YOU expect to see when its done
A picture may be worth a thousand words, BUT, a sample Workbook is worth a thousand screenshots!
-Add a File - click advanced (next to quick post), scroll to manage attachments, click, select add files, click select files, select file, click upload, when file shows up at bottom left, click done (bottom right), click submit
-To mark thread Solved- go top of thread, click Thread Tools, click Mark as Solved
If you received helpful response, please remember to hit the * of that post

Re: Sumif with add and remove

Sorry about that all, please see attached. I am try to use column C to determine whether or not the "total Driver" is a positive number or negative value. ("Add" and leaving the cell "blank" is positive number and "remove" is a negative number)

    Thank again

Re: Sumif with add and remove

Well, it's nice to see a layout....but I see no expected results, or any clue of where the working data is??
What are we expected to apply the formulas to? and where is the C40 reference?
I'm not trying to be difficult, I just see NOTHING to work with...

Also, why have you got Columns G & H merged? no need for it, and it will bee a pain eventually...

    Hope this helps

    Edit-
Should return a 0 if column c= "blank"
