Search a list of names and automatically return any names not already included in table

    Hi,

I'd like some help on a formula if possible. What I want to achieve is where I have a list of names, e.g.

    Bob
    Fred
    Ted
    Henry

I then have a table (obviously there would be values associated with these names).

    Bob Fred Ted Henry
    Product A
    Product B
    Product C

What I'd like to be able to do is when a new customer name is added to the list - eg add in Harry, I would then like this name to be automatically added into the table headings.

I thought a formula that would lookup all the customer names in the list and if any of the names did not correspond to the table then insert this into the next available column heading.

An example spreadsheet is attached. Please note that I would be unable to change any of the layout of the data apart from the table.

    Thanks,

    Lea

In column C, except of the Customer Names you have some other words like "Total", "Customer"

This create problem if we want to create a unique customer list...

If you have no problem to use 2 helper-hidden columns, i think we can do this. Are you interest?

    Hi,

I'm not sure exactly what you mean but by all means tell/show me what you mean and I'll see if I can use it.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Thanks for that. It does work however when you double click on the table headings, it then moves everything across a column and throws out all the other calculations?

Sorry, I'm being a doofus. I've not been Control+Shift+Enter when I've been changing.

I think I've managed to adapt it to suit my needs now so thank you for all your help.
