How to correct a sheet- where one column is populated with number "ranges" like 2-210 etc

Simple spreadsheet, complex problem for me, a total math failure, novice.
I have a sheet with two columns.
Column a describes one of 5 or 6 attributes of sequentially numbered documents.
Column b tells me what documents match those attributes.
Some documents may match several of the column a attributes. Some may match none.

Problem is that column b is currently populated either with individual numbers (ok) or with "ranges" of numbers expressed as,for example, 1-23 or 7-715 etc.
also not every number in the sequence is necessarily represented by any column a attribute.

what I would like to do is fix this sheet to list all numbers, singly and sequentially as one column, and, have another column next to it that lists next to each number the attribute or multiple attributes that it has matches per the current sheet column a.

Is this possible?

Kind of difficult to understand your situation. Suggest you post real life examples with expected results. Click on the Go Advanced tab and follow the wizard to upload a file.

Attached (I hope!) i a simple example. The actual data is an awfully large amount, otherwise, I would re-type!
The number column is "general" format since it is numbers and numbers separated by hyphens.

I would like the finished product to end up with a sequence of numbers that fill in all the attributes that appear for each such number kind of like the attached example...

I am not sure I did it right, or if I explained output goal not so right...

I see that formula returns the first number in the "range" but I want it to return all numbers (one by one) in the range, populate them into a column, and populate next to each number the Attribute(s) that was associated with the number in that range...
Does this doe it? When it works right, there will be one column with a list of like two hundred plus numbers, and next to each one, the one or more attribute(s) that were associated with that number .... is this crazy?
