    Re: Conditional formatting

    1.select cell D1 goto-> CF,new rule,use formula =COUNTIF(A1:C1,"no")=3 format,fill choose a fill color ok,ok
    2.select Cell A1 goto-> CF,new rule,use formula =A1="no" format,fill choose a fill color ok,ok
    the goto a different cell part, I know of no way without using VBA/Macro's to accomplish this...sorry

    Hope the rest helps

    Re: Conditional formatting

    Conditional formatting is as it says, you canuse it to change the format of the cell, but i am not aware of anyway to activate a cell using it.

    You can do it with VBA though.

    Re: Conditional formatting

    the =3 is a comparison, the formula reads as " count the cells in range of A1 to C1 that contain "no", if the count of cells containing "no" equals 3, then return TRUE, else return FALSE"
    and it should work..working fine here..not sure..maybe a regional thing? if so try this
    =COUNTIF(A1:C1;"no")=3

    note the change from a comma "," to a semi-colon ";"

    also, if you update your profile, then we would be able to see what version of excel you are using, and where you are from, which does make a difference

    Hope that helps
