Conditional formatting based on selection and cell value

    Hi,

Im trying to highlight a certain cell based on a selection and on the cell value in the corresponding row of the selection, but can't get it to work.

In the excel file I try to explain it in a bit more detail with examples.

    Hope someone can help me!

    Thanks in advance!

hi TrickY101, welcome to the forum. select the range you want to apply to (i.e. D10:N10)
go to Home -> Conditional Formatting -> New Rule -> Use a formula to determine which cells to format -> Format values where this formula is true:
    =VLOOKUP($R$12,$B$13:D$16,COLUMNS($E9:E9)+2,0)=1
    format as red

repeat the steps & change the one in red to 2 & 3 for blue & orange. i think you guys might be using semi-colons instead of commas eh?
    so maybe:
    =VLOOKUP($R$12;$B$13:D$16;COLUMNS($E9:E9)+2;0)=1

Thanks, if you have clicked on the * and added our rep.
