Sum cells from multiple worksheets (value error)

Hello everyone,

I've attached an example of problem that I need to solve, and I need your help

I have about 10 workbooks (in example there are 2), each for a different brand, that contain a list of costs by type and amount for each month in one year.

Also, there is one workbook that contains a sum of those cost amounts for every brand, by each month in one sheet.

I've managed to create an external reference that sums the costs for each brand in the workbook "Sum by brand" and that works fine.

But, the problem is that these references work only when the original brand workbooks ("Brand_X", "Brand_Y") are open. If I need to refresh only Brand Y, I need to open all brands so I dont get a value error. This isn't a problem when I have only one or two brand workbooks, but I have them 10, and all of them need to be open so that "Sum by brand" would work fine (without that value error).

So, my question is: How to refresh values of only one brand, while the values of other brands stay intact (dont go to value error)?
