    Multi level vlookup function?

    Hi there,

Is there a way to cross reference multiple dates in numerical format (1/1/13, 2/12/12, 10/5/12,etc) to their corresponding month? I tried using the vlookup function but it only returned a value of "december" because I used the true logical value (the false obviously returned and #NA because I'm not looking for an exact match).

    ***example***
    Requisition Open Month Open
1/29/13 December (I need it to return a value of "January")
    6/5/12

I have my table array on another worksheet in the same workbook.

Do I have to add another level to the vlookup formula or use another formula all together? Hopefully I didn't confuse you and make this more complicated than it is. I'm sure it can be done but I haven't been able to figure out how.

    Thank you in advance.

Nevermind. I got it. I used the =Text function to convert it to the month name in the cell I needed it in.

    Thank you
