Hi,
I have attached an example that will hopefully help me to explain what I am trying to do. The worksheet contains columns for Jan to Dec for a number of accounts in which their monthly sales total is entered. They have conditional formatting in place to make them green or red if they are higher or lower than the previous month.
I have created a section at the bottom that can count how many in that column are either greater than, less than, or equal to the adcacent cell in the previous column.
It counts them all accurately if the entire column has been filled in. What I want to do is make it so that it accurately counts the above but will only take into account the number of cells that have been completed in the column. As you can see on my example, I have entered just one line for a couple of months and it still accurately counts the one that is higher or lower, but it treats the rest of the cells in the column as if they are lower or equal, just because they have no figures entered into them yet. If I were to fill in one cell for March, I would want the 3 boxes at the bottom to only count that one cell.
I have tried various ways of playing around with the fomula to try and make it able to correctly ignore cells that are blank and at the same time be able to deal with having zero entered into some of them. I have not yet been able to make it work properly.
Does anyone think they can figure out a way of doing this?
Many thanks in advance
