Hi. I am using Excel 2003. I want to put invoice numbers beside names. The invoice numbers are in sequence, so that I could use the fill handle, except some rows are blank. How can I automatically fill the invoice column with a sequence of numbers but skip rows that do not contain data? Thanks.
Enter the invoice number for the first four rows (assuming you are starting in A1). Then in A5:
This assumes your invoice number increases by one each time and only works for a few blanks in a row.
