Angry Consolidation and sum of duplicate items

HI, Im working on a inventory list that shows duplicate items on different rows, and id like them squished together and the quantity of them all added to a single row.

    Example:

item # item name description date quantity
    530721 1 15 LB Wright Brand Bacon Regular 6 Slice/In Bacon, Smoked, Bulk, Sliced 20130308 3 0
    530721 1 15 LB Wright Brand Bacon Regular 6 Slice/In Bacon, Smoked, Bulk, Sliced 20130319 2 0
    530721 1 15 LB Wright Brand Bacon Regular 6 Slice/In Bacon, Smoked, Bulk, Sliced 20130322 3 0

I would like all of them added to one single line with total quantity.

Best I can suggest is to do something like the attached file. Create a list with each item (can be on a different sheet if you want, just put it where i didn't for ease) and then you can use a SUMIF to add the total qty for that item. Using a column reference like A:A and C:C in my example means that anything added later on will also be included in tht total.
