    Golfing schedule

I am a relative novice to formula and functions in Excel and this is my first posting.
I am trying to schedule a golfing holiday for 12 people and it will consist of 4 rounds of golf over 4 days. We will be playing in 3 sets of fourballs on each day.
A draw will be made to allocate a number or letter to each player (see tab ‘List’).
On the tab ‘Order of Play’ I have a sequence that tries to maximise the opportunity of each player to play with as many of the other 11 players, and this is shown in the table headed SCHEDULE.
In this tab I also use VLOOKUP to match the number or letter allocated in the draw which is in the tab ‘list’. From this function the individuals names are entered into the table headed NAMES.
I have the produced a matrix with the intention of counting the number of times each player will play against the remaining players. What I need help with is how to populate this table using an automated formula(e). I could simply count the numbers time one player plays with the remaining players and repeat this for the other 11 players and populate the matrix manually, but if any changes are made to the schedule I would have to repeatedly manually count and populate the matrix. Spreadsheet attached.
If anyone could provide suggestions (apart from give it up!) or point me in a direction where I could l find relevant information, it would be very much appreciated.

Yes I am very happy and I would gladly press the Reputation icon, but as a newcomer to the forum I am not sure how to do this or where to find it.
