How to get the value from one sheet to another depending on certain criteria

Hi All

I am hoping you can help

I have a spreadsheet with multiple pages, the information is on page 1 and this is the source data I need to get onto page 2, if the information in column a and column b on page 1 match the information in column a and column b on sheet 2 I need the details from the cell in column c from page 1 to update onto column c on page 2.

I hope this is clear enough

any help would be brilliant

Hi, welcome to the forum

Sounds like you need to use either VLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH for this. But to offer more detailed help, I suggest that you upload a small (clean) sample workbook (not a pic) of what you are working with, and what your expected outcome would look like.

To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.

so hopefully this doesn't get too confusing

what I need to do is get the rate into column F on the worksheet page to automatically fill after I place the information from the drop down list in column D and E

the information will come form the rates page, and the data to fill column D & E comes from my base data page

Im a little confused here You have a Disp of Cahils and a Rec of Woolies

On RATES, there is no Cahils, but there is on BASE?

Can you step me through the process here please?

thanks I have worked it out needed to do an IF and Vlookup, seems to be working
