Adding z scores (using sum and standardize functions)

Hi,

I have about 25 columns and 116 rows all with numbers in them. For each row, i want to add up the z scores for each respective column. I already calculated the average and standard deviation at the bottom of each column. I've tried multiple ways but nothing seems to work. Any help would be appreciated!

Theoretically your Sum of z scores should equal 0 and they are directly related to your average and std deviation and half would be negative and half positive
If your data is in A1:A50
your z score on each line would be (value - Average)/Std Dev

To do what you are asking for, Let's say Average is in B1 and Std Dev is in B2
Enter as an array (using CNTRL SHFT ENTER instead of just ENTER. you'll see {} appear around your formula)

=SUM((A1:A50-$B$1)/$B2)
