Counting Cells based on other cell value

Im looking for some help with creating this formula. Ive seen some on this forum but they were to hard to convert into my uses.

Basically id like to count the total sq. ft. from 4 different categories: EP, NP, NP/R, and EP/R. Ive attached the file for you to review. Look forward to your answers. It will be a big help.

=SUMIF($A$2:$A$8,LEFT(H13,FIND("=",H13)-1),$E$2:$E$8)
