variable cell referrence based on another cell

I am trying to link to another spreadsheet based on the contents of a cell that has the name of the month in, where this can change, so it points at the corresponding folder

    eg
    the cell ref is C:\Operations\Preventions\Productivity\2013\March\[MI.xlsx]
I have a cell that has the month name in (whic I want to be able to change) and I would like this ref to change based on the variable cell.

    is this possible without VBA?

    thanks

Assuming that the variable cell is A1, and the cell you want to refer to in the new workbook is on Sheet1 and in Cell A2, here is the formula

    Formula: copy to clipboard

Adjust the variable cell and sheet name accordingly. Note that you can of course also refer to a range instead of a single cell with this formula; just write a range instead of A2.
