    Error with Dependant Drop downlist (using INDIRECT function)

    Hi

    I have created dependant drop list using the Indirect function. However only the elements with one word in the element will work in the drop down list. If there is three or four words in the same element it will not work.

    I have seen a solution for 2 words to work. I think it is something like

    =INDIRECT(department, A2, " ", " ",)

    However as I have lots of different elements with different numbers of word ( up to 7 or 8), this solution does not work.

    Can any one please help me find a soultion to get the INDIRECT function to work if there is more than two words in the element.

    Not sure I completely understand what you are asking, what do you mean by element?

    If you are saying you have a sheet name made up with multiple words in cell A1 for example, you would need to wrap that with single quotes like:
