higher cost if one thing lower cost if the other

i have 2 size blocks. one is large and costs £1.80 per block, with a pack size of 144 and one is small and costs £1.60 per block, with a pack size of 216.
the 2 pack sizes will appear in cell A. how do i get cell be to register the pack cost at £1.80 for the large and £1.60 for the small? I apologise if this seems really easy but i don't use excel that much. regards

Assuming the pack size is in A1 and there are only the two pack sizes, put the below in cell B1

    =IF(A1=144,1.8,1.6)

first thing is don't put 2 lots of info in one cell it just makes things awkward excel is really designed for separate info on each cell.
second what you are asking is not clear

Which of the above methods are you using?

I'm not sure what you mean by this second question. Could you explain a little more?
