Count Distinct Active Days

How can I count the number of days an employee worked. E.g Employee 123 worked on the 1st of Jan and on the 2nd of Jan. The number of days is 2 though the tasks he did were 3. So I want to count the number of days not tasks. Answer must give 2 for Employee 123.
