Count Days, and last transaction days

Hello.

I am trying to enter two formulas to a large dataset. The first counts the days the transaction was open for, and the second calculates the number of days since we last received a call from a customer.

The data simply lists the the unique transaction reference, each date as a column with the number of calls we had on each day. The problem I am finding is that 'count' and 'count if' ignores the days in-between when we receive no calls; I need the total transaction time.
