How do I automaticaly update a copy of Excel from the original

Hello everybody, please can someone help me out here, I have an Excel file copy in a separate folder and I would want the Excel copy to update automatically (without opening the copy file) once I edit the original file, is there any way to achieve this aim.

Even if you link it up - as far as I know you need to open it to refresh the links in the closed one. You could put a macro that opens the file when you save changes in the original but that is not optimal for most people.
