    Questionnaire formulas?

    Hi there!

I’m new to the forum and no master at Excel either! But have a little project I’m trying to develop and could really do with some help. I’m trying to create an on-line – what I call – Room Configurator for microphone applications. Basically, someone puts in the details of their room size, how many people, what the room is used for and so on and at the end they get a product specification based on input to your series of questions. I’m guessing I need some form of questionnaire formulas in order to create this, as its based on some fixed questions along with criteria which will give different choices based on previous answers.

I know it’s a bit of a long shot but if anyone out there can offer any ideas or examples of how I should go about creating this I would be very grateful indeed!

    Thanks!

it would depend on the business rules you want to apply and could be created from a series of lookups from tables
what are all the rules and their relationship - may be a useful start

can you give some scenarios and expected output - detail of the product specification

    Re: Questionnaire formulas?

    Hi etaf,

Many thanks for taking time for me. In terms of business rules, I've attached how far I have got so far, which lists the likely rules I think. So in the first instance it sets up a product line applicable to condition 1. Then and for ease I have tagged these as either 123 or ABC etc. The trickiest variable is I think, limiting the choice of options based on the previous choice. If you can give me a rough idea of what kind of formula I should be thinking about or an example I can modify that would help me a lot!

    Thanks.
