Unable to Change Cell Value in Excel Spreadsheet

Hi everyone,

Im very new to this forum and to excel in general so apologies for my complete naivety here.

I am trying to use the attached Leave spreadsheet but am having trouble with the cell values.

The calculation of each cell appears to equal half Ie when I add a H in a cell for Holiday leave, the cell is valued at .5. I need this to be valued at 1 (1 whole day) and can not find a way to recalculate or change this.

Ideally I would like the option to be able to add either half days or full days for the main categories.

Can anyone help??

Well, it appears each Day has 2 cells.

Take January 1, that has B5 AND C5.

For half a day, put the h in B5
For a full day, put the h in BOTH B5 and C5

There are some hidden columns. One of these is Column BQ.

In range BQ5:BQ16, exists(in BQ5) this formula.

=COUNTIF($B5:$BK5,BQ$4)/2

In BQ5 change this formula to =COUNTIF($B5:$BK5,BQ$4)

Now it's ok.
