Could not find installable ISAM error when trying to retreive data from another site

I currently have a spreadsheet that's looking up data in another spreadsheet using ODBC

When trying to retrieve the latest data, i am receiving the below message:

Could not find installable ISAM

I have tried to re-register the Msexcl40.dll and ensured that the registry reflects the same file path for this file (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Jet\4.0\Engines\Excel), however this has not assisted in the solution.

Does anyone have any ideas

I received the same error when trying to refresh an existing table in PowerPivot 2013. The problem ended up being a column name had changed in the source table. Once manually changed to match in the source table, the issue was solved. This situation had nothing to do with connection strings, which seems to be a common cause for this error in other posts.
