Dates Change on Sort due to reference to cell above.

I am running a recepts register for a fund raising event. A column = payor, B column Date, C Amount Received D-L Fund raiser source.
I can capture data to a new workbook so as to sort by Fund Source and Payor. For ease of entry, B can be changed to specific date mm/dd/yy B1 and then B2=B1. for each date I have receipts, so I don't have to imput the date each time.

I can also copy the date and repeat in the range B2:B10 so that when I sort the date follows without a problem.

So, if I have a cell data contingent on another row which changes due to a sort, how do I convert the contingent data do a value before sorting and maybe missing a cell that needs to convert to a value before sorting.

Is there a way?

Thanks Lumice. I did not realize I could copy and paste to the same cell and change the formula to value.
