Question Need help calculating an average using a named range

    Good evening everyone

I have a table of prices for which I need to calculate the AVERAGE price for. This table contains 4 different columns (including a date column, others are prices. This table is a named range of cells, named prices. I am able to work out average price using the cell ranges but not using the named range.

I am entering the average answer into another table (column 3)

    My formula starts =AVERAGE(

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Hi stacey69, welcome to the forum.

It should be pretty simple, just type the name of the named range in the formula. Something like this:

    =AVERAGE(mynamedrange)

    Hi RHCPgergo

Many thanks for your quick response. I tried this already as the formula worked using the cell range so I thought it would work replacing the cell range with the named range but no luck. I am trying to download the file to attach however it is taking forever to download the file to attach to the forum but will keep trying.

    Cheers
    Stacey
