Alarm activated when contract expiry date is reached?

Hi there,

I have names listed of contacts on spread sheet, which I do business with. I would like to be notified when these contract dates expire. How could I do this?

Either have the alarm triggered when excel matches the date in the cell with the date on my computer?

or

Alarm to be activated a month before the actual expiry date set in the Excel cell. THIS WOULD BEST FOR ME, IF POSSIBLE?

Without VBA, using Conditional Formatting to fill cells with color OR a notification in the next cell.

You can use conditional formatting for this, whereby the date would change colour with, say, 4 weeks to go, then it could change to a different colour with, say, 2 weeks to go, and then a different colour again if the contract has expired. You need to describe the layout of your workbook in better detail if you want a more detailed solution, or better still please post a sample workbook (the FAQ describes how).

Ok great this will definitely help me, thanks. Tell me it probably is not possible to have an audible alarm that goes off when the contact is about to expire or even better an alarm that goes off as soon as I turn my computer on, notifying me of an expired contact before I even open the work book?
