Would you not just use this formula in another cell?

=k4-h4+i4

If you wanted something a little more complicated maybe an example would be helpful

cheers

you can upload the excel file the same way as the picture
To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Re: running total formula for inventory

If you want to be able to just keep adding data to H3 and I3 (over-writing what was there before) etc, and have K3 update according, there is no regular formula that will do that for you - a cell can contain either data or a formula, not both.

IF that is what you want, maybe some-one can write some VBA code for you

Alternatively, take a look at the attached and see if that is something you can work with? You just keep entering data downwards in A:C and M2:O8 run the balances for you
I included data validation in A to eliminate typos, Im sure you have far more than just the nuts and bolts you listed, so you can just increase the DV range (let me know if you dont know how)
