    Finding a complicated average number

This one is a little complicated, at least I think it is...

What I want to do is essentially the following, only in 1 cell

I want to take the average of the column G - the column D I know I could simply add another column in my table and have that be say G8-D8 then when I added a line to the table it would automatically give me G9-D9 etc etc and then I could do an average on that tables column

That would work great and if I have to I will do that, but Im hoping to find a way to avoid having another column in my table.

So is there a way to set this up in an equation or will I need to add an additional column?

    Thanks

    Control+shift+enter, not just enter:

    =AVERAGE(G2:G100-D2:D100)
