Problem using LOOKUP function.

Hi Guys I am trying to search using the LOOKUP function but I found the wrong value , example:

row a b
1 60,00 1,103
2 60,10 1,099
3 60,20 1,096

In the cell c3 I calculate (6,2 * 10)

In the cell c4 I make =lookup(c3;a1:a3;b1:b3)

But the cell c4 shows 1,099, and the right answer is 1,096 , someone can help me , please.

I don't know where you're from, or what you're trying to do. I followed your directions, however, and it seemed to produce the results you wanted.

Re: Problem using LOOKUP function.

Using the values you gave, and the calc you showed, I got 1096??

@ Illusive, the profile states Columbia, the numbering format is probably different

i would suggest you upload a sample work book, (all sensitive data removed), showing what data you are working with, a few examples of what your expected outcome is, and how you arrived at that
To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

This must be a floating point precision issue (google it, it's a documented issue).

Try changing the formula in J8 to
=ROUND(J7*J8,1)
