Hi folks,
I've a sheet attached where I would like to sum some times together. If you look in cell B5, this cell reads 30:28:00 to look at but up in the formula bar says 01/01/1900 06:28:00. This cell should read 06:28 but when i add the hours together for each month Excel seems to add this as 30:28:00. I believe this may be a formatting issue if anyone can help??

Select A1, click Format painter and select all the values in the column.
That will set the same format for the whole column of values.

Thanks Norie but that doesn't fix it. That turns them all into decimals which don't bear any relation to the time values i need to add together
i.e. 02:16 turns into 0.094444444
Oops, I meant B2 not A1.
That works but when it comes to one of the ones that was in the 01/01/1900 06:28:00 format it adds this as 31 hours not 06:28:00
The value is 1 day (24) hours and 6 hours 28 minutes, where did the day come from?

That is because it is 1 day & 06:28 hrs (1.269444444). You will need to -1
