can I link shared documents in Excel 2010 and receive updates w/o opening linked docs?
I have 1 "report" excel spreadsheet that links to data in 4 other spreadsheets. 2 of these 4 linked spreadsheets are "shared" spreadsheets.
When I open the "report" excel spreadsheet, the updates from unshared sources work beautifully without further action. However, the 2 links to excel spreadsheets that are 'shared' do not update unless I first open said shared documents.
Requiring the manager to open other spreadsheets prior to getting the updates defeats (and complicates) the automated purpose of the report.
Any solutions? (and please do not suggest unsharing the 2 documents, that isn't an option)
