Excel, is there a shortcut to add to start and end of a formula?

For example, I want to add "if(IC = 2," after the equals sign "=" and ")" at the end of a group of cells with unique formulas.

Can anyone teach me?

And I am also looking for someone to help me with Excel, they must be EXPERT, then I may pay them per little help (PM me).

Thanks for your help and sorry for being an idiot but I'm new to Excel!

I appreciate your help!

Type "if(IC=2,"
Select the string and use Ctrl-C to copy
Now use Ctrl-V to paste the string wherever you want.

If you want to modify existing formulas then you'll need to give us examples of the formulas as your original posting doesnt quite make sense.

Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

Re: Excel, is there a shortcut to add to start and end of a formula?

For example, if I have 100 cells with RANDOM and UNIQUE formulas.

At each of those cells, I want to add after the equals symbol "=" a string of text, and after the whole formula I want to add a close bracket ")" or some text.

How do I do that to all 100 cells simultaneously?

I just thought up of a solution, is there a find and replace function to replace certain text in certain functions, I could just replace the "=" symbol with "=if(example" etc.

This already answered your own question:

Ctrl+H to bring up the find/replace dialogue, click the "Options >>" to expand the options and make sure the Look In is set to Formulas
Hope that helps,

You can use FIND/REPLACE, press CRTL H, enter what you want to replace, enter what you want to replace with
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools

It doesn't work, I tried replacing =if(I4 with =if(I6 = 3)if(I4
But I need to end the formula with a ")" to satisfy its syntax (grammar if you like).

If you are changing the contents of a formula with F/R, you often need to do it in stages.

1st replace = with # to make it not a formula - that way excel wont shout at you if you "break" a formula
2nd start swapping out small pieces at a time
3rd when you are certain that your formula will still work, replace # with =

Thanks, that's a great solution! I can send you $2.50 if you want as a small reward via PayPal although it is not really much, just PM me your PayPal ID.
