input text in a cell from a formula in another cell

is it possible to in put text in a cell from a formula in another or indeed any other way


what I am trying to do

A1 has text "sat"
B1 I want this cell to receive text "D/O"
formula in C1 which says something like if A1 ="sat" enter D/O in B1


I need to do it this was so that the user can enter data in B1 and dont want write new formula each month.

The attached file does what you asked - but I would have thought that it would be more use to have B1 entered "D/O" when A1 = "sat".

Is "D/O" the only entry that should go in B1 ?
