    Reformatting/merging 2 cells

    Hi there,

First want to say, in the past, I have relied on this forum for help and remain extremely grateful. What a great group of minds.

Okay, now that you're sufficiently warmed up here's my query.

My database presently has two columns that I'd like to merge into one, in order to make the data presentable for the web. It's to do with a film's title, director, and year of original release. So let's say we're talking about IRON MAN 3. In the spreadsheet it's

    COLUMN A
    Iron Man 3 (Shane Black)

    COLUMN B
    2013

How I'd like it to be presented is
Iron Man 3 (Shane Black, 2013)

And, following that, to apply the formula to 6000+ additional pairs of columns to obtain the same desired result.

Is it possible? In advance, I thank you.

    =a1&","&b1

This will give you Iron Man 3 (Shane Black), 2013 as result.

    Can you work with this?

    OR

    =SUBSTITUTE(A1,")",",")&B1&")"

The second solution is lovely and ideal for what I'm doing.

Is it possible to add a wee space between the comma and the year?

Disregard last - I did some research and found a solution. Nevertheless, thanks very much for the formula, it's perfect.

When the site is live, I will share it here.
