Would like help with data valadiation drop down box based on user entry and Vlookup formul

Hello Everyone,

I have attached a example sheet showing what I am trying to do. Basically I want to do the following

My customer enters their name on the search sheet.

Then a Vlookup formula, that looks for customer entered name, and all builds done by the customer (from table in pilot status), and displays all the builds in a drop down box (data validation) for customer to choose build they are inquiring about. There are duplicate customer name entries (but different builds for that customer).

Based on build chosen by the customer from the drop down box the following will show
If build is started it will show the date the build was started (otherwise display Not Started)
If build is completed it will show the date the build was completed (otherwise display Not Finished)

Hi and welcome to the forum

See if the attached wis what you want? I have created a list of unique customers on sheet1 col P, and used this for a drop-down on sheet3 for the name (to eliminate typo's). when you enter the name in the yellow cell, B:D get populated for you

On a side note: I removed all of your merged cell. TRy and avoid using them if you can, they just cause problems later with formulas

First I want to say thank you very much!!! In looking at this form, I do like the drop down box of the customer names, I would like it if there was a way to have the reported builds also be a drop down box (based on customer name). Once the build date is selected, the date started and date finished would automatically populate the date boxes.

Is that possible?

I guess what you might try, is to have what I gave you on another sheet (or off to the side somewhere), and then reference that with Data Validation to give you the DD you want?
