Push Data from one sheet to another using Date and product ID.

Hi all. Once again trying to figure this one out. I am sure it will be with some sort of Sumif command but I am struggling to figure it out. I have attached the files so you can look at it.

Here is what I am wanting to do. As you can see I have a couple sheets but the 2 sheets I am mainly concerned about in this thread are "Inventory received" and "May Inventory".

As you can see in the "Inventory received" I have the "date" it was received and a pull down menu with the "Item ID". On the "May Inventory" sheet there is a line for "Inventory received". I want that line to search the "Inventory received" sheet for the date from may 1-31st AND the inventory ID and put the amount of parts received on the corresponding lines.

So example. If we got 10,000 parts of C308UF on 5/1/13 in the "Inventory Received" sheet, then 10,000 parts would appear on the "Inventory received" line on the C308UF Row of the "May Inventory" Sheet. Also if we get multiple orders like 3 10k parts in that month it will add up.

your request is not clear to me.
You are comparing column A and B of Inventory Received sheet with column A of May Inventory and row(2). Is this right? If so ,when the match is found what do you want to return and from which sheet and which column?

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I want the "Amount Received" line from the "Inventory Received" sheet go to the "Inventory Received" line on the "May Inventory" Sheet.

You have month May in May Inventory(Row2), but have a single month only (3/5/13) in sheet Inventory Received, so none of the dates match.
The items IDs also do not match unless you are looking for partial match.

I had to do some updates on that data that is in there AB33. I cleared that up and changed some of the data so it now matches. I put a couple of different dates in there so I can see if it is adding correctly.

Here is an updated file. I put a formula in "May Inventory" Sheet on 3C that hopefully explains my thought process. I put this formula in and it doesn't work as I am trying to use the date range from "E2-AI2". If I just put a single date in, then it pulls up the data just for that day. I want it to sum all the days up from 5/1/13 to 5/31/13 if that makes any sense.
