matching a cell with a number in

could you please help with this

i have a spread sheet with simple numbers and i'm trying to match another cell to one of the numbers ie c2 = a2. What i am trying to do is until there is a number in a2 c2 displays as 0 is there away that c2 remains blank until a number is put in a2
