Count of date before and after max value

I have a sheet with about 1100 product IDs. Each ID has a certain volume that is recorded each day.
I found the max volume for each ID. Now I would like to use a formula that will allow me to tag all the dates
before the max volume with negative numbers(-1,-2,-3 etc...) and all the dates after the max volume with
positives numbers(1,2,3,etc...).

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Yes, surely that will reduce the formula length, but just wanted to avoid array
