Hi,
I am trying to apply an indexed value to each cell in a column. The intent is to count the instances of a given name and put the indexed value in the next column.
Here is a manually entered example of the output desired in column 2.

Try in B2 and copy down.
=COUNTIF($A$2:A2,A2)
