no chance to get hh.mm to work

Hello everybody, it has been quite a while from my last problem.
I have an excel file that's, basically, a timesheet. I have a START time and an END time (in the format [hh.mm]). then I have a 3rd cell where there is a simple formula to get the subtraction between END time and START time, in HOURS. Everything worked well since today, when I had to format my system and reinstall Windows. I saved the excel document on my Dropbox, so I just downloaded it and tried if it worked correctly or not. It does not work anymore! Everything seems to work correctly, but as soon as I enter start and end time the 3rd cell shows #####. I found that in the start and end time cells, if I enter, for example, 15.00 (15PM), is remains 15.00, while in the old cells it was 15:00:00. The problem is that even if I try to re-set cells properties, it does not work! And it also does not work if I try to MODIFY an old, WORKING cell. Does anyone has an idea on what's happening? If you need it I can copy part of it in a different document and upload it here. Thank you!

EDIT: problem almost solved. If I enter 15:00 it works, it shows 15.00 on the cell itself and 15:00:00 on the formula at the top. But with the "old" document if I entered 15.00 it was automatically converted to 15:00:00 on the formula at the top and 15.00 displayed on the cell itself.. Don't know why...

Re: no chance to get hh.mm to work

Have you tried entering it as 15:00 (i.e. with a colon instead of a full stop)?

    Hope this helps.

    Pete
