CLick in cell that has the rule already applied, click conditional formatting, click manage rule, and change 'applies to' for the row

1st (and this is aimed at Christopher), you should avoid applying CF to entire rows....CF tends to be fairly resource-intensive, and if you have a considerable amount of rows, it will begin to start slowing your file down. In most cases, all you need to do is highlight the required range, notthe entire row

Having said that...
1. highlight the range you want to apply the conditional formatting to
2. on the home tab, styles, select CF
3. select new rule, select use formula
4. enter =$E7<>"" format fill as required
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

I just tested it again and it worked fine. what "didnt work"?

Note that if row 7 is NOT the 1st row that you are applying the CF to, then change the $E7 to whichever row you start in, and dont forget to include the $
