Hyperlinks in a dropdown box

Hello friends,

I have a data validation dropdown list and I need to make it so that each selection has its own hyperlink to another individual excel workbook. Right now I can only make it so that it hyperlinks all the selections in the dropdown box which redirects all selections to the same workbook.
If there is a way to do this, I would be greatful for the help.

Ive posted this in another forum as well but I have yet to get a reply and time is a factor. Its been a few days. Heres the link to the first post.

Say the drop-down is cell B9. Make sure that the list of hyperlinks that can be chosen are of the form:

file:///C:\TestFolder\alpha.xlsm

Then in another cell enter:

=HYPERLINK(B9,"external file")

B9 may not be "click-able" (an active hyperlink), but the other cell will be "click-able"
